Changa chait-2011

Every year, Club Himalaya Nagarkot, organizes Changa Chait competition in order to promote the age-old kite flying competition and to herald the arrival of the festival Dashin. This year also changa Chait program was organized. Changa Chait was first conducted in 2060(2003) in Club Himalaya ,Nagarkot.Program's title was "Changa Chait’ 2068: Corporate Kite-flying competition above the clouds". The last Changa Chait held in 2064(2007) drew in 2,000-3,000 visitors per day, over 10,000 visitors over a span of 3 days and over 40 corporate houses(banks, industries, travel agents & many more) participated in this fun Kite Flying competition.
This year the program was conducted in two days 28th Sept and 1st Oct 2011.Preliminary round was conducted in 28th September and final in 1st October. Besides kite flying various songs artists performed live on that program.According to the organiser the main objectives of this program are:

• To revive/ promote and carry on the age old tradition of flying kites during Dashain.
• To foster good relations between corporate houses through this traditional sport.
• To usher in the spirit of Dashain
• To develop Nagarkot as a destination for kite lovers.
  

Really Changa Chait has helped people network, build new relationships, foster team spirit among colleagues, and most of all have a really great time, while bringing back the age old tradition of kite flying.
